I kinda sweared off Transformers for a long time after Michael Bay started his movie run. Sometime last year (2017), I really got back into them full force. Nowadays, I can’ recommend the Lost Light series enough, but you can’t just jump into it. That would be a disservice because you’d just be skipping the best part of the series which started a long time before in a comic book called More Than Meets the Eye.

I strongly recommend the digital 10 volumes if you really want to get into it. The whole series feels like an irreverent TV show parody where we travel the galaxy with a faction from the Transformers, some whom you know and some that have usually been relegated to the background. There’s a lot of hilarity, a lot of ludicrous plots, some ominous foreshadowing, progressive storylines and really engaging storytelling.

I don’t really think it’s worth it for me to spoil anything, but let’s make something clear – things are no longer black and white. The war between the Autobots and the Decepticons is over and now we have a load ton of consequences to face. Or we can take the Lost Light and travel halfway across the galaxy looking for the Knights of Cybertron.

Seriously recommended for the grown-up Transformer fan who wants to read a decent storyline. And in case you want to know any highlights to watch out for, here’s a shining recommendation…

Don’t open the coffin. Don’t let them take Skids. Don’t go to Delphi. And do not – I repeat do not – look in the basement. And for the sake of the Cybertronian race itself, please don’t…

Huh? Ok, guess that was the wrong message. Don’t worry about it, it will all be fine.

That will do for now.
