No, it’s not the title of a new reality show… Gigi was a rose-like sauce that I found and decided to test out with my fettuccine shrimp. The result? It was all good šŸ™‚

I also had good luck using a Vindaloo sauce with chicken. Yeah, carrots and peas again… I know I gotta change that.

However… I was not so lucky in my saffron experiment. Two spoons of saffron were too much. Don’t be alarmed, this saffron is very mild and barely adds flavor – although the color seems ready to knock you out. Luckily I did mix in corn and cajun spices so it tasted good. However, the chicken was cooked in the oven and as it turns out I over cooked it – it was a bit dry. I could also have used more broccoli. All in all, a bunch of lessons learned with this dish.

Saffron Rice and Chicken

Lesson learned.

On the forecast for this weekend, this Saturday is la Nuit Blanche… I can’t wait! šŸ™‚ Hope I last a little longer this time. I should take a nap on Saturday to make sure I’m good. Also tomorrow, I make the last payment on the CMA vacation package (the one for this year!). I’ll be ok, but I still intend to be frugal and keep up with primarily cooking and eating at home since I’ve come to like it so much.

That will do for now.
