One Day More!

Cat’s out of the bag.  I’m taking guitar lessons.  I was trying to keep it a secret.  It’s something I do often, because I’m really lousy at keeping secrets.  Now you know.

I broke one of the strings.  I felt really miserable that night.  I replaced the string myself, but it sounded awful.  I took it to Steve’s the next day and they said, shoddy job or not it doesn’t matter as long as it sounds right and holds.  So they tuned it and gave it back to me.  I was happy again. Then the guitar got discovered at work and I was embarrased and made fun of.  I got flustered and cut someone off as I left, and someone told the boss.  I get made fun of and the boss talks to me.  That’s nice.  Still, the boss didn’t scold me, just made sure everything was ok.  Good, but people who know I have a short fuse shouldn’t make fun of me.  That’s all I’m saying.  I’ll hit them over the head with the guitar.

But last night was fun, and I have my next set of chords to practice.  I still have trouble with the first ones! This is going to take a long time.  I’ve been listening to a lot of Les Mis and Phantom lately, hence the title.  I love musicals.  There, I said it.  Make fun of me now.  I’m getting used to it.  When your back is turned, don’t be surprised to get hit with a guitar though.

The video thing isn’t 100% percent yet and Saturday is coming up.  I have the wrong firewire cable – great.  My co-worker (a nice guy) gave me the necessary tips and pointed me in the right direction.  I can’t believe Saturday is going to be here and I STILL don’t have the formula!  If this doesn’t work, I’m dead in the water.  But at least, the HD is working.  I have upgraded to digital and have access to HD content.  I will get the cable tonight after work and try it out.

There’s a meeting at the embassy for a friend leaving overseas tonight.  I’m going to make an appearance but I can’t stay long,  I have to get the rest of the software setup and tested.  Besides I’m not much for the drinking and staying up late anymore these days.  Unfortunately that means no gym tonight either, but perhaps I can get some on Saturday morning.

It’s been a roller coaster of a week! But I’m glad it’s going to finish on a good note.  It’s still going to be me running around to Microbytes, Futureshop, the Apple store and back, then to the embassy and then make it back home.  I guess it will be pub grub for supper, the embassy has some good choices though.

One day more…

High on music right now.  Can’t talk. Gotta run =)
